I thought I was the only one who did these things.

There are some sisters I know from the hall that were not at all strong in the truth and were wavering because of "unbelieving " spouses. I always send them apostate post cards. I have hope for them that they will leave because both of their spouses are so strongly against the WTS.

I also send apostate pc's to elders and my husbands family....just so they'll have some persecution to b*tch about at their next meeting...

I also always make sure to send these from a town different than mine so they won't ever link it to me...I've even sent them to friends in other states in a package and had them mail it from their state so the person is really confused!

Eagerness To Shun Bound To Fade

my own parents gave up shunning me after i was disfellowshipped.

they kept it up for about 3 years and then just sort of gradually folded.

here in wsm, most of the witnesses who remember me can't be arsed with the shunning thang any more.

We had dinner this weekend with some of our Ex-JW friends who are DA'd.

My friend said something so wise.

She said " I have 4 kids, I knew one of them was going to do something bad....and there was going to be no way I wouldn't talk to someone who had grown in my body."

She said it was the actions of people towards those that were DF'd and DA'd that helped her see the truth about the Troof..

i know of some people that regularly speak untruth and think there's just nothing wrong with it.

I agree with Scully 110%.

But also...I don't want to hurt anyones feelings.

My best friend has horrible taste in clothes. She's 35 and dresses like she's in the Golden Girls...she asks how do you like my new (insert ugly article of clothing here) and I will say...It's very nice but I like your (less ugly piece of clothing ) better.

Is that lying?

It started out as just a walk ...

... and it turned into an animal rescue.. it was a beautiful day here, so after supper my wife, two kids and myself decided to take a stroll in the woods nearby.

you have to drive a ways up an out-of-the-way road to get to this trail and we had a great time on our walk.

so we're headed back to the car and hear a faint, "meow".

This happens every winter here in Massachusetts - I guess people don't get it that little baby kittens shouldn't be running around in a foot of snow!!!

I ended up with 2 kittens this winter and 2 last winter...now have 6 cats! Sheesh!

I hate people who do the dump and run on the little furrbabies.

You may be able to get SNAP certificates from the SPCA which gives you half or sometimes free spay/neuter for your new family members because they were dumped and are strays.

Poor kitties....do not send them to my house or my husband will kill me!

today has been a weird day.

nothing horrible.

just frustrating.

Why Georgia

I hate the women who wear super high heel shoes and do the busy walk...then they get behind you at the supermarket and sigh and sigh because your grocery shopping with your kids who do on occasion make noises. Then they tap their shoes because they are so damn busy they can't stand having to wait in line.

I also hate the women that have to show off their new $450+ purses that are the size of a freaking sunglass case and take them everywhere and pose with them...hello honey you are not paris hilton and you are not that cute!

I also hate men who have gained weight and don't notice that their shorts are so tight it looks like they have a vagina (aka CAMEL TOE)....and no you shouldn't wear socks up to your knees with those too tight shorts and your sandals - Dummy!

These are just the people I ran into today in the world.

i will be very brief on my introduction as i need to get straight to the point.

i was raised in the 'truth' from birth.

i got baptized at 16 (elder dad hassled me) and managed to do the 'slow fade' at 18 (it helped that i moved 50 miles away from home).

Why Georgia

First I am sorry for your pain. I know that doesn't help but I empathize.

My father in law had something similar to your father and they did the surgery without blood. He also just had a quadruple bypass again without blood.

He was fine in both counts but they went to a couple of different hospitals before they found a surgeon who would do the surgeries.

Just try to keep your cool......because remember this is his life and he has to make his own decisions and he is probably at peace with them.

You wouldn't want them making medical decisions for you - would you?

To be completely honest they may be dreading the same thing with you..in other words if you ever got hurt and need a blood transfusion or some other medical treatment the WTS doesn't agree with.

Maybe you can find some common ground in that thought.

Sorry if that seems mean - I am not trying to sound that way.

COLDPLAY OR OASIS

have been a fan of both.

but oasis cd is deeply disappointing...(i disagreed with critics on their recent releases..thought they were good).

coldplay i also disagreed about...thought their last one was not as good as the first.

I have to disagree with you about Coldplay's latest cd.

Great to sleep by- I couldn't even get to the end.

If I want to be that depressed I'll pull out my Morrissey Cd's.

What is the WORST item of clothing you have ever worn/bought?

mine was a short-sleeved 'raver' t-shirt with a hood i wore when i was 13. it was a orange,green and yellow aztec pattern.

for a few months i thought i looked cool.

I cut up all my sweatshirts like the girl from flashdance.....sheesh!!!

Also a leopard print vest that I wore with cowboy boots.

Those jeans from the 80's that were pedal pushers and had little zippers and bows on the back...

Hurache sandals...

WG - a complete child of the 80's who had big band hair to match!

What is you (or somebodies) best blooper in the KH?

for example: we had a 'faithfull' brother getting older and confused.

when something did not really went as he liked it (didn't get the answer etc) he shouted very loudly 'god doom me in the hell!

one time i had to do the closing prayer on the midweek meeting.

This one is kind of sad.

Our nephew is developmentally disabled and we took him with us to a meeting and he held up his hand to answer almost everytime but his answers were not really that relevant to the bookstudy although he thought they were.

After the second time the bookstudy conductor just ignored him even if his was the only hand up...this study leader liked to toss out extra questions because he felt he was quite a bible scholar...

Anyway.

Our nephew started crying really loudly and moaning about how was he ever going to get to Bethel if he wasn't allowed to answer the questions and why won't the brother call on him. He was sobbing.

My husband had to take him to the back of the hall and then outside until he calmed down.

We never took him to a meeting again and for me it also opened my eyes about how Jehovahs wonderful people treat disabled ones. It made me really angry.
